These are the herd of gazelles that lost a member to the lioness. Jinjur "neutralised the problem" by catching the herd and is about to kill all the witnesses to the lion incursion.

The problem with being the good character is that you are hamstrung by the bad character's absolute dick moves. Like featuring live prey at a banquet when you are used to everything being already dead by the time it reaches your maw, then banking on your hesitancy to say you are too weak to even eat, let alone lead.
If it wasn't "too late" in the script, saying "they're not done to my liking" and sending them back would be hilarious.
