[Timeline Synchronization Complete. System Calibrating...Attempting Reconnection]
"Damn it. Why is this file not working? There has to be a reason. System, check for file corruption, maybe attempt recovery." Miranda groaned, already on her fifth attempt at the next file that followed Mir and Del as they had guests over. It was the same couple that had been mentioned several times, beginning just after they came up in her first file. They hadn't shown up more than maybe twice so far, so perhaps there was nothing too important about them that dealth with past events. But there were other angles, especially when it comes to friends you can entrust information to. The gears were turning as Miranda thought up possibilities to solve this as she waited.
She returned to the AR space, pacing around and pulling up a dry-erase board, penning out points of interest, maybe stepping back a little. "System, do we have any files on those other two? She seemed very friendly towards them, maybe they play a part somewhere." Miranda requested, hearing a chirp from her lenses. A notification popped into view, yellow color and accented with exclamation points.
[Archive search may slow recovery process, User. Proceed?]
Miranda sighed, unsure of her next course of action, planting hands on her hips as she looked at the floor in thought. "Hmmm, ugh, yeah, pull up the files. Let's see where this goes." She said, confirming to the system her request, pacing about as another chirp rang, a reminder of processor usage that may inhibit the AR space. She limited the ambient processes, disabled exterior environments, and decreased passive data flow. It was like a studio set now, devoid of dynamic everything, simply plain and functional. She called up a mirror, admiring the facsimile of a fashionable getup, reflective corset and gloves now flat in color as they themselves were animate before.
[Addition Files Saved. Add memory to the AR space, user?]
Miranda didn't hear a chirp, only seeing the pop up on her display. She didn't really need it present in the space, instead saving it to a quick-select tab on her peripheral. Strange, only the most important people were scanned for memory viewing. Did this mean at least one, or better, both of these individuals were in the top listings of importance? Miranda couldn't wait to read up on them, pulling up a virtual board to view the simplest text data she could. But she was met only with flavor texts and the least bit of crucial background. Birthdays, dates of death, familial relations, offspring, and occupations, all cover profiles like a community-operated public data repository. She groaned, locked from in-depth research by the recovering files.
[Stress Levels Increased. Should I administer relaxing music, User? :/ ]
Miranda wasn't in the mood really, but it killed time, which is what all this was about. A notification pinged, as enough processing power was freed up by the nearly recovered files, she could return the AR space to dynamic motion. She declined bit kept the music on standby, seeing the simple files were now more complete. "Hmm, Matt and Isabella Ripken, parents of two, occupations not too important, aha, personal lives connect them to Miranda and Delmont Arroyo. Hmm, interesting, Delmont, what an old fashioned name." Miranda commenting on her ancestors and their friends. The data wasn't about her family though, only mentioning them several dozen times in these two's lives. She was growing curious though, deciding to check Matt, to see what he was like as her however-many-greats-removed grandfather's best friend. She was more than interested to say the least.
"Hmm, interesting fellow insofar, with a touch of family problems, somehow not surprising. Best friend with the girl of your dreams, cute, married and had kids, lived a great life. Hmm, but you two certainly had your adventures, I guess that's why you guys were scanned by my old lady back then." Miranda observed, slight grin on her face as she continued reading, little laughs of joy escaping now and then. God, these were pretty nice people, having a good life with family, friends, and each other. She often wondered how her family life would go, if it would be as exemplary as these two led. She was lost in thought, not noticing she was getting pinged for the recovery of the files.
[Files Recovered. Proceed for visual playback, User? ]
"Hmm, maybe...hey, System, we can see memories of those on record, correct? Is there a way we can imprint subjects onto other memories or hypothesize situations for better understanding of each individual's responses?" Miranda asked, getting a long loading hum as the system processed the request. There was a ping, cautioning her to remain on factual events, that alternate paths of history were for another department in the works. "I mean, we can do it though, right? C'mon, there's a story I find tragic that may be well-received for that department." She pleaded, the system responding to her with its developing personality program.
