Around the time that HeartGold & SoulSilver versions of Pokemon were released, I became an even bigger fan of the design of the rival. Whom I will call 'Silver' here, since that is his canon name. Lately, he wandered back into my mind & stuck around so much that I wanted to attempt to draw him. It didn't turn out perfectly, but I can always draw him again later.
I chose to give Silver a Croconaw because that was the Starter he chose in my playthrough of Silver version. I owned both games when I was a teenager, but I have more memories of interacting with him with the reptilian partner. Also had to go back & edit poor Croconaw's right paw because I accidentally messed up the thumb placement. Hands are still something that I struggle with.
