Its a big talking machanical head in space. Isin't he the same guy thats the satilite transformer in Transformer 2: Rise of the Fallen?

That was Soundwave in Revenge of the Fallen. The big head there is Unicron.

Unicron was first seen (as far as I know) in the animated Transformers movie. This guy is pretty much a floating planet that eats other planets. :)

He shows up in the beginning, gets destroyed by the Matrix at the end, the head becomes an orbiting body, and later in the series is used in various plots

I have the animated movie. But I haven't seen any of the episodes of the show based on it after. Sucks that Prime dies in it. But at least you find out how Rodimusprime comes to be. Ultramagnus was pretty cool too. :3

Season 3 immediately follows the movie.

Well. It would be kind of obvious. You can't have a cartoon series without the main character.

But it did suck that he died in the movie.

Well, he doesn't come back until the last couple episodes of season 3. Then it gets weird. Also known as "Head Masters"

*shrugs* Oh well. Never seen that season. I have one of the collections. I think it's part one of season one. But that's about it.
