Well, I'm not gonna be the fool that starts it.
It must be fun to have so many wildly different body types and so on in one single image.
One notes the side of the map with the X appears to be facing her, not them. :o
Just for a moment, I thought you'd painted this on wood, there are some lovely grainy textures all over the picture.
Is that the texture of the paper / canvas coming through? or an intentional effect afterwards?
i just brushed it on simply, so there is this overall texture that you're seeing.
i could put it on with more intention, as though "painting" with it. it dries clear, but the strokes would follow the shapes of the figures or objects or spatters, etc.
Always nice to learn something new, even if I'll never likely use it myself.
Then I paint, the paint catches in the brush strokes of the dried medium and that's what you're seeing.
Id love to work in the medium you use. Gouache? Is it different from watercolors? It looks different in how you are utilizing it, but google described it as pigment in water...
Tell me a bit about your technique please? If it isnt off limits, of course. <o.o>
Terrific pirate poses and outfits. Not to mention all of the colors are amazing. Nothin' too bright.
THis is a shock. What an understatement. Amazing color pallet here.
I gouache.
beautiful texture <3
