Setting the scales in place... scale by scale... Once the pattern is al set, I'll then set them in place with glue, and pour a shiny coat over the whole kitnkaboodle!

Why yes it is, actually! The side you see behind the dragonhead is my "Workbench", which is an old bar in the kitchen that otherwise sits open and unused. The food prep side I leave relatively latex-free (except in this instance where I was looking for good lighting for the photo).
No garage to work out of, and the basement is unfinished, and its quite nice not being separated from the center of the place.

the first glance reminded me of one of the 'Murder Puppets' from the Hellraiser movies. :)
I'm curious how the result would look like. maybe there can be done a variation with overlapping scales down the noseridge, like ancient armoury. :)
