I see plenty where I live, yet none that big or beautiful^^

Is there a significant difference between th females and males?

In all spider species (as far as I know) the female is significantly larger. but in this specific type of wolf spider, the females look a bit like tarantulas, where the males and more sleek and agile looking.

Ah, all right. I knew female Black Widows dwarfed their male counterparts, making them easier to kill and devour after mating(talk about a toxic relationship,) but I wasn't sure if it were that way with other species as well^^ Thanks!

That looks nothing like a wolf!

Anyway nice picture. I heard these have big fangs and deliver quite a bite.
The big fangs are why they're called wolf spiders, I think.

I always assumed it was because a lot of them are kind of wold colored, a tannish gray. I've actually never gotten a bite and that surprises me! I've played with them quite a bit, but I didn't bother with trying to pick this girl up. She looked like she was ready to get on with her hunting for the evening, haha.

I'm not entirely sure about the fang thing though. I heard about it on youtube from the Discovery show Bugging with Rudd.
