Jolee surprised me with a very generous donation last week ;____; So here's a small watercolour doodle I did for her as thanks!
Those are my absolute beginnings with this medium and there's tons of mistakes, but I find painting super enjoyable and definitely want to keep practising. I have a second version of this piece here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/gs56zr8ko.....r%202.png?dl=0 . That one was done on textured paper and I feel like it has more accurate colours, but I decided to go with the smooth version since it was completed with a tad more experience!

GOSH you didn't need to do anything in return, silly! You deserved every cent of that tip (and more) for the amount of time, effort, and love you poured into my commission. Aaa, what the heck! I don't deserve this magnificent watercolour Jo, but goodness how I love it ;___; You're just as talented with a paintbrush as you are with a pencil or tablet, you know that? I'm so happy to see more traditional pieces from you - they're rare treasures <3 Jo looks like she hopped into a storybook and I couldn't be more pleased! And the fact that you drew her with lavender makes my heart glad 'cos it means you read her Toyhou.se page.... you always pay such close attention to small details like that!
I'm impressed with your impeccably clean inks (how do you keep your hands so steady??) and that lavender bouquet looks marvellous in both versions :D There's no way I can pick a favourite - I love them equally <3 I like the subtle differences between the two (it looks like you experimented a bit with the flowers and the knitting on her sweater cuffs, I love the results in both!). Seriously, I'm amazed you took the time to ink and colour this piece TWICE ;___; Thank you so, so, SO much, Francis! I'm not very good with words, but please know I will cherish both of these paintings forever. Jolene has never looked better and it's all thanks to you <3 You are not allowed to draw me anything ever again because you've done way too much for me!! Thank you for everything and best of luck with the rest of your commissions <3

Like I said, I treat donations the same way you do, so there's no way IN HECK I could let that generous tip go unrewarded :D And your commission wasn't a challenge at all - quite the opposite, I enjoyed every minute I got to spend on it! I find Jolene easy and pleasant to draw, so I can assure you it wasn't a big deal :) Oh gosh, I'm super happy you like my traditional work! I'm extremely shaky when it comes to dip pens, fineliners and paints, and I can't say I'm very satisfied with my results so far, but that's alright. I think I can get a bit better with some practice!
NOPE, my hands are anything but steady, traditional inking is always the toughest part of the process for me ;____; But I'm happy you like it anyway! And yes, good eye :) I was experimenting with those two versions, trying to figure out what works better. I'm glad you enjoy them both <3 I think you're awesome with words, you've always been!! Thank you for this extremely kind and thoughtful comment, it means a lot and motivates me to keep paintin' - it also motivates me to draw more things for you, so don't you dare forbid me! Thank you so much again <3
