Paco's Parinton
I was at Megaplex a few weeks ago and I was blown away by how much fun I had. Even went to a panel hosted by
goldendruid where artists could get together and swap sketchbooks and draw stuff for each other. I was up and walking around on my second attempt to trade and everyone was busy. I must have asked for 2 minutes walking around the room and finally made my way up front and asked a few more times near the front of the room when this nice fella looked over to me and held out his hand and said, "I'll trade you" I was super excited. No idea who it was as I'm an old paw in the fandom returned after 7 years of silence more or less. I wanted to make sure I drew for him as well as I could though. His character design was so cute. I tried to adhere exactly to his specifications on the sheet because I knew if he put them there it was important to him and that made it important to me! When he brought my book back to me I had to stop drawing and stare... it was amazing! I couldn't believe my eyes! I took him this a few minutes later and you know what? I didn't feel intimidated or overwhelmed... I felt proud. I had done my best and I knew it and sure, it didn't hold a candle to him, but my heart was in it and I knew it and that's all that mattered to me at that moment. He gave me a wonderful piece of art and in return I gave him part of my spark. It wasn't even until afterward when I was talking to Golden at her booth that she asked me about Paco and I complimented his artistic talent with flowery words only THEN to find out he was a super awesome successful artist that apparently everyone knows. I was blown away, but happy. He was so nice and I wrote out this story because he truly deserves the recognition from me as being in the top 5 best things that happened to me that entire weekend, likely top 3.
