skekTek the Skeksis Scientist and the Skeksis counterpart of urTih the Alchemist, was one of the original 18 Skeksis/Mystics born from the botch division of the UrSkeks and represented the Scientist side of TekTih.

skekTek was Aughra's closest friend, but when he began to experiment with Crystal in extracting the life essence from Thra's two main lifeforms, she cut ties with him, something that was a matter of great bitterness to her, as it was TekTih who taught her to study the stars and built the observatory for her.

skekTek continued to experiment on Thra's lifeforms with the Crystal, as well extracting the essence from Podlings and Gelflings to elongate the life of the Emperor, and from the memories from its past life created the Garthim, creatures based on the sea lifeforms from the UrSkeks homeworld. Overtime, skekTek continued to replace body part with mechanical prosthetic (Right Eye, Arm and Leg), the inserting tubes to monitor its body fluids.

By the time of skekSo's death, skekTek was part skekUng's faction with skekNa the Slave Master, as the General tried to and succeeded in becoming the new Emperor, and banishing the Chamberlain. Days later, when skekSil returned with a captured Gelfling, Kira, skekTek convinced skekUng to have her essence drained rather than killing her, as a way to be on its good side after he drank the weaker Podling Essence with brief effects.

This action marked the demise of the Scientist, as Kira, hearing Jen's voice, called for the help of the Animals, who rebelled and attacked skekTek, losing its grip and falling down the fire shaft, and in the process, also killing urTih. Both becoming the final pair to died before the reunification of the 8 surviving Skeksis/Mystics and rebirth of the UrSkeks.
