Some people speculate that Pidgey was based off the carrier pigeon. I don't really agree with that idea (I'm guessing it was just based on general pigeons, no specific breed) but that little tidbit did give me the idea of having Pidgey trying to transport some letters. Honestly, I don't think its doing that great of a job... but it is just a Pidgey!
A lot of people don't seem too fond of this little guy, but I personally have used it and his evolutions many times. It's easy to level, decently strong, and works as a flier, so why not? :)
I really like the background on this one too, it turned out better then I was anticipating. Oh, and if anyone is curious, these Pokemon pictures take about 5-6 hours on average from start to finish. I think its worth the time. :)

Spearow got a flying move really early, which was way more useful then Pidgey's myraid of normal moves early on. But, I always personally found Spearow less visually appealing, and its evolution was even worse. (In the original red and blue for sure, anyway.) But yeah, that said, I've used Spearow in my party before too, so its not like that stopped me or anything. ;)
