**I DID NOT DRAW THIS!**
Well this one goes back a bit!
and I found common ground pretty quickly, and we remain very close several years later! Tens surprised me one day with this *amazing* piece that she had been secretly working on, based on our plan for me to fly to the States and then go on a road trip with her. An invitation was later extended to
who (should Tens have remained within the furry community and had time to draw) would have ended up being added as a third character in the back.
Unfortunately the whole thing went to custard and the trip never happened, but the memory remains with this gorgeous and very fun pic!

And of course, I have Tens' permission to post this, after a very long and expensive phone call today! :D

Hmmmmmmmmm........ I'm not sure that ya do! :P
This particular inception of the trip didn't work out because someone lost their job and had to move back to the South, but it quickly evolved into other forms of the same trip, when an invitation was also extended to
, but then unfortunately a couple months before THE DATE, that same certain someone dropped his nuts and disappeared in some kind of cowardly meltdown, leaving us other 3 to deal with a mess.
SO,
and
and I (oops did I make it obvious?! Naughty) set about making other plans, then
lost her job, etc, etc- kinda doomed apparently!
2 years later, however,
is coming to New Zealand to spend a few weeks touring *my* country, so all is well! :D
Glad you asked? Lol!

That would have been the coolest thing. For all its faults, the US is the original home of the epic road-trip. The kinda trip where you smack talk a lot, eat bad food, stay at crappy motels but also have long, quiet stretches while driving where nobody has to say anything, just a companionable silence between you...
Dude- I was *so* excited about this. A bit disappointed when it had to change, but it was still all good because we would have had a blast, plus... well I'd have gotten to spend actual physical time with my mate. Look where that would have gotten me though!
Bad food? In America? Is there something else to measure that against?! :P

Your disappointment is quite understandable - that would have been an epic way to spend a few days/weeks. Given the way things panned out with your ex then perhaps the universe conspired against you for a reason in that instance. Not a believer in fate, but I still thing that there are events that occur and people that come into our lives for a reason. Whether we learn anything from such happenings is up to us, however.
And yes, bad food... but having said that, the insane desire to punish my colon with a steak the size of a dinner-plate DOES have its appeal...

I agree completely! Even if it's as simple a lesson as that some people are heartless spineless dickheads, then yes- I learned something! :D Perhaps the story goes simply that there is someone out there for me, that was never him, and he'd have gotten in the way. I dunno, but hey- it get's better with each passing day, although a little atonement sought would certainly go a long way in repairing the soul, ya know?
You can come *home* and have a steak the size of a dinner plate, that actually tastes good! So I'll see ya in a few weeks, yeah?!

Definitely hear you on the atonement - nobody should ever be that careless with another persons feelings. You have every right to still feel bitter. But you are still young, active and have friends who would no doubt be willing to do a road trip with you sometime. Don't write it off entirely, my friend.
Just over a week I will be flying out of this place on my way back home... even if only for 3 weeks. And yes, if you are willing I would love to catch up in person while I am back
