I wrote this while looking at the city of Seattle from Alki beach. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate the city? This pretty much sums up what I was thinking at the time.

Driftwood floats on alkaline waters
surrounded by poison sand
a city floats in the distance
like some broken promise land
the people there have no eyes
and they don't have any ears
they'll continue living there for 9000 years
They lock themselves in concrete coffins
that stand a mile high
they slave away their lives
I'll bet you wonder why
the watchers tell them when to eat
and when to leave or stay
they go about their business
they know no other way
If you try and walk amongst them
they will try and gain your mind
they'll temp you with their vision
they'll think their being kind
the game they play they play for keeps
no mater how hard you cry
they'll do to you what they did to me
they'll take you with their lie
Don't trust the ones that talk to you
they can't know who you are
you've got to try and hide yourself
if you run you wont get far
this place is a toxic garden
it's no place to reside
this city on the water will consume you from inside
If this song strikes a chord with you, you might consider reading this book some time:

to tell you. We are stuffed in problems, live such a busy life. We stress ourselves with problems, and we just keep doing it all the time every day as if there wasn't any any thing else to do. This goes to such extremes that we don't have any time to do more things that we like, and we end up being very unhappy, and the circle keeps moving, we try to find some money and than we die. That why I say all the time Life sucks and then you die, make it worth.
I got tired of trying to become someone and have the stupid dream of fame and fortune. i don't want that shit I just wanna be happy, be myself, and do what i like. Screw the life that society give you, no one can tell me how to live.
Sorry i thing I got a bit ... you know..........

don't worry about it. People get caught up in the daily race. Its hard not to get upset about it when you realy think about it. Its really fucked up. But you hit the nail on the head i think. Just try and enjoy what you love and be happy, and be careful not to get sucked into something you don't want.
cities are no place to live, and suburbs even less.
but you know, diversity being the nature of reality,
the grass will alway keep trying to grow up between the cracks in the street,
and someday, when people get tired of beating their heads against,
the reality of nature's diversity their own existence depends on,
life will take back its own, and the pavement and the cars will be forgotten.
