Frond must be very frustrated or something. Or maybe he just wants to demonstrate there's no bone tissue underneath the skin of his face. Or, "skin", his flesh is putty-like all over, the darker flesh underneath covered in mucus turns into lighter "skin" when it becomes drier, and he can fix the damage pretty quickly.
If looking at this makes you uneasy, try to imagine that happening to your own face.
I've had this idea stuck in my head for a while now, but due to my Photoshop anxiety I hadn't been able to draw it down until now.
Since, uh, it's the best tool for visceral, not-so-stylized stuff like this. I'm so rusty, but then, at least I've improved in other areas like anatomy in the meantime.
There are aspects I'm happy with (skin texture), but since I have no patience for sketching the whole structure properly, it's teeming with flaws (arm, folds of the shirt, shirt collars, head asymmetry, too smooth-looking knuckles, OH GOD THAT NECK, the flimsy-looking pinky finger etc.). I should try mirrorflipping more often as well. 9__6
And maybe I should try out some different painting techniques, or maybe sketch with a different shade of colour. I dunno. Urgh
SUMMA SUMMARUM why I shouldn't do things in one sitting, this took like, what, two hours? Ffff. Oh well, at least I finally got that wretched idea out of my head. For once, the subject I'm focusing on looks about right (even if it doesn't match the image in my head but ehh). Nothing else doesn't, sadly.
(I'm not sure if I should mark this mature or not...)
