Because at the time I was at my parents, and I was ustreaming this to show someone the art and to clean up some specks on the page. I added the background digitally because it looked like it needed something. I rather like the effect. ♥

Hmm. Personally, I find the transition from traditional to digital to be a bit harsh - the grainy detail of the scan contrasts a bit TOO strongly with the soft, airbrushy feel of the bg, if that makes sense? I think I would have gone with adding a bright white stroke/outline around the character to tie him to the bg, and maybe cropped so that the ragged edge of the bottom of the wing isn't showing.
As I said, though, it's very cute, and I really like the way the texture scanned!
