Nope - "Grandville" by Brian Talbot.
Was fun, neat art style, although the story was a bit too relevant to RL events for my own liking.

Wow, this made me immediately have to find the song... and by that I mean the Ram Jam version.
I found out for the first time just now that the song was first popularized by blues guitarist Lead Belly. And that he himself adapted from early folk versions and from an old rifleman cadence.

Here's the first recorded version, from 1931. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwxxXt--PQo - I've heard arguments that "Black Betty" is supposed to be a rifle, but also that "Black Betty" is the wagon carrying prisoners, like the term Black Mariah. So either it started out someone's marching song, or someone's work gang song - maybe both.
It is Denver & Rio Grand Western #473. A K-28 class 2-8-2 built in 1923.
What can I say, it's my favorite locomotive. EVAH!!!
Though personally I prefered her in her "Bumble Bee" scheme.

She was originally painted in this guise in 1951. She remained this way for almost a year. Then she rolled over into the Animas River and was once again painted black. but retained the "Diamond" style smoke stack.
Then during Railfest of 2006 she was once again painted into the famous Bumble Bee shceme for that operating season.

Well, as for me, I preferred the U. S. Army look of these engines http://www.whitepassfan.net/whitepa.....256/index.html for variety and my custom reversal of the bumble bee based on this: http://media.photobucket.com/image/.....ottsTrain2.jpg
