I've had kind of the inverse experience. When I'm with a mix of my furry and non-furry friends and someone calls me by my sona's name and the rest is like "who the fuck is Decker?"

But in all seriousness I had someone do it once at a con and it took me a very long time to figure out they were yelling for me because my childhood friends always just called me by my last name and anyone but my mother spouting my first just goes in one ear and out the other so I just stood there looking like an idiot xD

It's honestly to the point now that not only do all my friends call me 'Kalt' but that's how I'm called among work mates and business contacts. 'Legal' name is only for 'legal' documents now.

yeah. I never do ether though sadly some of my furry friends met me through an old job I had so they called me by that name and it spread like a virus.

Dude, I feel you. I had a stalker call me by my real name and they wouldn't stop. That's why I deleted any trace of my name and went under an alias.

But that still sucks when EVERYONE knows your name.
