So did you just draw a furrified version of you, looking at your paws and questioning why you draw things you don't enjoy drawing?

Full story: I am finishing a commission. I couldn't draw the characters. I used one of my characters to warm up, but the art ended up being NSFW, something I do not like drawing personally. Problem is: The drawing looked really good. I went back to work on the commission. I suddenly couldn't draw again. So I spent 10 minutes making a chibi fox that shows little to none of my art skills as I question my ability to draw.

It's a cute reaction doodle if nothing else, so I thought I'd share it.

That's understandable, perhaps you should take a break? Or maybe look for inspiration somewhere else. Sometimes a little change can make a big difference in how you work.

I can try. If I had time I'd totally take a break, but sadly adulting, working, and side projects have taken over my life. I don't get much of a break until about October...

In my case, it's because if I draw the thing I "want" to draw, it has to be perfect. Whereas if I just dick around and make something unpublishable, sure it doesn't help me do the thing i wanted, but it .... scratches the drawing itch, if that makes sense
