" “I mean, I could help you get back into shape,” Kal said.
“Really?” Danny said, his spirits lifting.
“Yeah, of course, dude! I could get you looking like this in no time at all,” Kal said, motioning to his wet glistening frame.
“Will you teach me how to be so humble too?” Danny teased.
“Hey!”

He looked down at the wet sand by his paws in shame as his chest continued to heave: he hadn’t done anything. He was too slow…. too weak… too heavy… too fat… Kal felt a paw land on his shoulder. He looked up to see the encouraging smile of his canine friend.
“Kal, I think we need to have a chat…” Danny said.
“I know,” Kal said.
“It’s about your…” Danny started to say.
“I know,” Kal said.
“You know I could help you lose the weight…” Danny floated eliciting a knowing chuckle from the lion as he turned to head back toward the lifeguard stand. Immediately, the lion winced from his cramping side. Danny stepped in and wrapped an arm around the lion’s shoulder as the two walked along the sand.
“Where have I heard that before?” "
What can I say? I love a good before n' after!
Kal went from a stud muffin to just a plain ol' muffin~! It's amazing what a dramatic shift in lifestyle can do to a lion - ESPECIALLY one who is somehow oblivious that it's even happening!
He may have been able to squat 300 in the past, but with that 300 caked onto his frame and having exercised roughly 0 hours for all these months, I'm not sure if he could even squat himself.
I decided to do some sketchy supplemental illustrations for the lovely story
