This is hauntingly beautiful. However, I find it too familiar, reminiscent of times I have felt the exact same way. Maybe that is why I can relate.
Life is a constant divergence of who we are on the inside, versus who we are on the outside. The real us, on the inside, demands to be allowed to surface and show the world the truth, yet the outside becomes an impenetrable shield that protects us from past injuries. The problem is that the shield becomes a prison, none can get in and we can't get out, unless someone reminds us that risk and hurt are unavoidable parts of living. Without them, how can we truly know ourselves? Life is not so much defined by pain as tested by it. It is our responses that reveal our true nature.
I guess that's just fancy way of saying, hang in there. You're not the only one who has to pretend, hide your feelings and fears. You are not alone. Remember that here, you are free to be yourself, to talk to those of us who understand, and we're with you all the way.

You are welcome. Sometimes I run across things that really tug at me and I have to respond. I just read another of your poems, and while I don't know much about you or your life, I can say that you and I have both had similar experiences that caused us pain. Please don't let it control you, and keep you from being yourself. I did and I regret so many things because of that decision.
