Fourth in this current set, eighth in the series, by the spectacular
shonuff44 of his lovely character Hula Girl.
Oh no,… things are certainly not looking good for the Paradise Defender,… she as sunken perilously deep into the quicksand now, as it oozes up around her neck and over her shoulders. Yet her hand is still free, and clearly she has not given up the fight, as she strains against the tight suction of the sand around her. Will she escape? What was she trying to reach? And just where is that unreliable monkey sidekick, Hangtime?
(To be continued? )
A wonderful cliffhanger to finish up this current portion of the series with. The patches of darker, wetter sand around and behind her, seem much more obvious, showing off how large this pool of quicksand is, as the surfaces ripples thickly all around her, showing off her previous and continued struggles. I continue to adore the look of her floating hair as it spreads more and more across the surface in thick ‘coils’. The sand encircling her neck is great, and the tops of her shoulders just barely sticking up from the mire is a great touch, looking as though she is trying to raise them up abit. Her hand, and the action lines coming off it, give the impression that she is still flexing and straining her hand and fingers, trying to reach out as best she can, against the grip of the sands. Her expression again is just wonderful, her brows furrowed, teeth gritted, one eye closed, you really get a sense of her continued straining against the thick heavy sands as she sinks deeper in, accentuated by the turning of her head depicted by the action lines, and that lovely blush, which has deepened, showing perhaps both concern and embarrassment. The whole image speaks of the seriousness of her situation, and her continuing struggles against this treacherous trap,… but will the valiant Hula Girl prevail against the sinister Beach Quicksand?
All in all another outstanding series by an incredibly talented artist, starring his wonderful OC. :D
