A number of months ago our board of directors made the decision to keep all of our testing and development in house. This was hugely related to an incident involving Ms. Belle and a third party who attempted to resolve her situation. The results were startling and difficult for us to unravel. We decided collectively that it'd be best not to contract other treatments through the laboratory. That being said, we are still, on occasion, contacted by outside researchers and scientists who wish for us to fund, support or look into their own work. This is often followed with a desire to work with us, or sell us a particular treatment. In these circumstances, we ask that the third party do all their own testing, and ensure all relevant research is made available to us for examination before we'd even consider marketing the idea, to do our own bout of testing. Ms. Sabitha, who was the scientist who'd initially carried out the additional work on Ms. Belle, contacted us, saying that in conjunction with Dr. Penny, she'd been working on a treatment that she'd very much like to pitch to us. We agreed to meet with her at her laboratory, to see a live demonstration. Dr. Penny and Dr. Masters along with myself visited Ms. Sabitha to see what she'd come up with.
Ms. Sabitha's idea was an interesting one. The concept was a form of reverse mitosis which would result in a fusion of two subjects. Of course, we'd insisted the change be temporary, both for safety reasons and for it to be marketable. The idea of fusing two people comes with a lot of issues. How would the minds of the subjects integrate? How would the singular entity feel and react? It also lead to a series of similar legal issues. You can't fuse Social Security numbers, after all. This would essentially create a unique, entirely new entity. The process itself used techniques that were so different to what we usually worked with, further showing how different Ms. Sabitha's methods are from our own. We suspected that Dr. Penny's influence meant that nanites and such were used, a theory we would put more stock in once we witnessed the testing. Ms. Sabitha had already acquired two subjects for the test. A Mr. Aidan and a Ms. Hanako. Both had been fully informed as to what was going happen, and seemed to share a nervous excitement for the test.
The test was soon underway, performed in a sealed room. When fusing two people, the treatment needs to be spread to all willing participants, and it does seem possible this could result in contamination and the possibility for other entities to be drawn into the reverse mitosis process. In other words, if not done carefully, other people, including the overseeing Doctors, could wind up as part of the final entity. The treatment was administered, and as soon as the two subjects touched, their bodies seemed to pull into each other. It was surprisingly to see their clothing merge together and shift, a change that furthered my belief that nanites were involved in the treatment. As the two subjects were pulled into each other, we could clearly see features from one leaking into the other. Hair length, colour, build, etc. As the joining process neared an end, we noticed there was an irregularity with the entities gender. The nanites seemed unsure how to combine two separate genders, and it resulted in some odd curves and defects. In particular, the presence of a single breast on the body. Dr. Penny seems ecstatic with how the testing went, and I have to admit, Dr. Masters and I are impressed with what we've seen.
We're currently speaking with both Ms. Sabitha and the new person before us, Hanadan, carrying out some after care, and to see if this is a treatment we could refine and market. Though restoration is believed to be possible, Dr. Penny and Miss Sabitha seems adamant in keeping them conjoined for a fair bit more time to study their behaviour.
