This is a porcelain tile inlaid in a wooden box lid, the top of a jewelry box.
Along with the china pinting, I also fired on pieces of glass held on with
i-relief and later glazed with 24 ct. gold.

I've done several jewlery boxes with the glass effect. Usually, it is a dragon guarding its treasure (the glass 'gems')
This one was not expensive to make, as I got the box on sale. The boxes like this one cost upwards of 20.00. (So, I have to ask a minimum that is higher than I would normally for a piece like this.)
Glad you like it!

Thanks for the kind words!
This is porcelain, rather than normal ceramics, so using china paints is different from making glazes. The colors are translucent, and so layer fairly well, like water colors. Each layer of color is fired seperatly, so there is little mixing between fires.
I always had a tough time with colors when I did ceramics in school.
