there's a lot of things I'd like to touch in this XD
one thing that really intrigues me about this is just the little trinket hanging from the sword, I think that it really makes it so much more personal than if he had been just holding it without the trinket on it, it really ties it to the character.
I'm in the process of designing another hyena character whom actually has a mark on his fur very similar to the one on your characters shoulder, finally awesome to see people putting actual markings on hyenas!
