Looking closely at said helmet, I would say the helmet is broken as it looks like the top back is cracked open and her ears are sticking above the helmet. Also her tail, hands and toes are exposed to vacuum as well so I'm thinking she is a spirit or goddess and all bets are off as to how the metaphysics work.
