This was a birthday gift to myself XD Took a lot longer to make than I expected, which makes me feel guilty because I have commissions to do… But maybe it was worth the effort and time haha. I love drawing my happy cats haha
Shame I even have to say so, but reminder that they are both about the same age and are adults here. No they aren't related, obviously.

I had a lot of frustration with the colors this time :| They were super difficult and I hated them, felt like I failed actually! Then I tried some new things and was able to salvage it XD Now I’m actually pretty happy with the colors! Was probably worth the pain because now I have a new coloring technique to use with inked drawings ^^ I really liked my inking here though. Overall I’m really happy with this one! :D

Your work is very good. I only have one tiny, very specific constructive criticism: the pupils on many of these characters are slightly oversized, and it's just enough to make the expression seem child-like. If that is desired, great, but you've done high-drama battle scenes in the past, and the large pupils limit the full range of the expressions: http://d.facdn.net/art/titusw/15649.....gue__1_pg6.jpg
That is certainly something I should pay a bit more attention to accentuating, especially in that context! I'll try to keep an eye on that ^^
I typically make them a bit more dilated for the "cute" factor, as you might have guessed haha. Same type of style choices I use for things like having human-like eyebrows on them even if it's not particularly realistic haha. But changing the dilation would help with other non "cute" expressions ^^

Wonderful work and an adorable picture! Those paws are especially well done! Also, an artist should never apologize or feel guilty for creating something just for themselves. Art should always remain a passion we pursue for the sheer joy of it. Oh, by all means, if the commissions and requests are coming in, go for it, but if we start to see our art as requiring such validation, as just another job, then that joy begins to die, and there is no greater tragedy for the creative soul.
