Tojum is a kobold, and like many kobolds, grew up in one of the many slums of Wheatfield. She was born male, and her father didn't accept that she wished to present as female. When her father died, she broke into an arcane college and stole a magical amulet that would help her on her quest.
She drew up flyers and attached them to migratory birds, advertising her cosmetic services all over the world. She claimed she could magically change the look of a client's body for a cheap price. Jeimos, desperate to solve their own gender-related crisis, came to Tojum for help. But instead, Tojum used her amulet to switch bodies with Jeimos, stealing their feminine form.
Jeimos and their friends chased Tojum all over the city. Eventually they caught her and forced her to give Jeimos' body back. They were about to let the law deal with her, but Jeimos felt great pity for the kobold and chose to be merciful. They offered to fly Tojum out of the slums and all the way to Drifter's Hollow.
Tojum settled happily into the village and became Dr. Che's protege. She's only a nurse now, but she hopes to learn cosmetic surgery in the future so she can help people like her present the way they feel inside. In the meantime, she dutifully tends all the villagers' wounds.
