Now comes the end of their first day and finding something out.

Wondering
As Jack and Rachel went to their next class, his thoughts turned back to maybe asking her out. But this didn’t last long as the vulpine had to focus a little since they made it. It turned out that quite a few of them he shared with the bob cat. The male hoped that would make things easier as it gave him more opportunities to interact with her. Jack tried to guess by glancing at Rachel how she felt about this but like in most cases with males doing this, he couldn’t really tell. Well it was just the first day and there would be time to ask and figure it out. Then the next period they didn’t have and then it was time for lunch. Like in the morning, they met up with Yuki, Maddie, and the others. “So how’s it been so far?” the second vulpine asked as they found a place to eat with their lunches.
“Not bad,” the coyote replied.
“Just wait, it’ll get tougher from here on out.”
“Yeah, for you,” she shot back playfully.
“Hey, I do well enough!” Yuki stated.
“Never mind that, Rachel here says she’s already figured out what sports team she wants to join,” Jack stated to save his friend embarrassment.
The rest looked to her. “Yeah, I really have,” the feline replied.
“A little ambitious, aren’t you?” another of the friends asked.
“I wouldn’t say that. It’s just in the ninth grade I saw the older students play it and I knew it’s what I wanted to do.”
“Well it’s not high propriety for me yet to find a team or club,” Yuki said.
“Same with me,” Jack commented. “But if you want to do that Rachel, nobody’s stopping you.”
“I’m sure something will come up for you if you’re interested,” the feline said. “I’m sure in a few days to a week, the clubs and teams will be looking for new members.”
The friends then talked about some other things but then it was time to head back to class. The rest of the school day passed by with no problem. However it was at the end of it that found Jack and Rachel talking again before it was time to head to the buses. “Still not there yet with driving?” she asked.
“It won’t be much longer now,” he told her. “Once I get my license, I’ll see about getting a car and then drive to school. Of course buying it is going to be the problem.”
“Why?”
“Well it’s not really the money but finding one that my parents will allow.”
“I can understand that,” the feline commented. “Although maybe when you do get one you can help us out with things.”
“You must be reading my mind,” the vulpine stated with a grin and the teens shared a laugh.
“Silly, I’ve known you for so long I can almost tell what you’re thinking,” Rachel said sweetly.
The guy noticed how close she was next to him and could almost catch a scent from her. A natural scent that was sweet. Not that the female didn’t use the other stuff to smell good, but near the end of the day it had mostly worn off. Just then the time came for the buses to start loading up the students who rode them. Rachel was close enough to walk back home if she so choose and didn’t mind the exercise. “I think it’s time for us to go…” he said softly.
“Yeah,” she agreed and smiled at the vulpine. “But I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”
The guy watched her walk away, noticing how Rachel’s hips and ass moved when she did. Being a bob cat there’s wasn’t much of a tail. The young male swallowed hard and blushed like crazy before coming back to the present. All on the ride back, he was lost in thought with how it had been with her today. Just thinking about Rachel was enough to make Jack blush and his heart to tighten. This made the guy wonder what was going on with him. He made it back home and found his parents tending to the house since they knew their kids wouldn’t want to walk in on them making love. “Hey Jack!” Topaz called from the front garden, just having finished doing the usual checkup and routine work on it.
“Oh, hey mom,” he replied.
The mother vixen dusted her palms and pants off. “So, like how was it?” she asked.
Her eldest son didn’t reply at first. “Interesting…” Jack then answered. “I’ll say later but right now I need something to eat.”
The mother vixen giggled as that was a typical response of teenage males who were hungry. “Okay honey.” Jack let himself in as he had a key for the house.
The guy got what he wanted and unpacked his stuff. There was no homework tonight but that would change in just a bit. His thoughts turned back to Rachel. Everything about her was speaking out to the guy; her looks, voice, giggle, all of it. And never since knowing her had it been like this. Just then there was a knock on the door to his room. “Hey, just stopping to say hi,” went Nicholas’s voice who was standing in the doorway.
“Dad, I really need to be alone now,” his son replied.
“I won’t disturb you I just thought I’d stop by to say I hope you had a good day. That’s all.” The younger vulpine rolled his eyes but heard his father walk away.
His siblings then came home and then the family sat down to eat dinner. The brother and sister went first and then it was his turn to talk. “I think this is going to be fun,” Jack replied. “Most of my friends are in my classes. A lot of new faces to. The teachers are cool as well.”
“Good then,” Topaz said. “I really hope it’ll be a good year for all of you.”
“Yeah…” They continued to eat and talk but in Jack’s mind he wondered if it could be more so if he and Rachel could be more than what they had going on.
And it was that thought that made the guy realize what it was now. Why these feelings were popping up now at age 16. Because Jack realized that Rachel was more than just a friend to him. The guy walked up to his room in a daze after eating before closing the door. “I like her…” he whispered. “I like Rachel…” She was someone he wanted to date and be with.
Little did he know that when she got home she was feeling the same way. While the bob cat didn’t say it out loud to her parents, she said it in a whisper in her room. “I like you Jack…” the feline said softly, her paws over her heart. Rachel always had since they were kids. But that was more the child kind of love. Now as a teen and having emotions to find that someone were in her. And the bob cat saw Jack as someone who was a bit of a goof, kind, sweet, helpful, and handsome. All of it were things she liked. Now there was another thing she had to look forward to this year; and that was being more than friends with Jack. The teens fell asleep, happier than ever and not knowing, but for now hoped it would happen somehow.
