This is
fable, a feathery microraptor. I have no idea if such a critter ever excited, but it's -damned- cute. She herself is an amazing artist, so be sure to go check out her gallery!
The piece was challenging in that I... don't do feathered things terribly often. Neither do I generally do small bitey reptilians either. But for all that the composition and painting was a little bit of a stretch artistically, I am extremely happy with the outcome.
