finally got a decent photo of candy's pink belly. she's got the most interesting markings of any mantis i've raised so far. i'd like it if she'd keep her spots and speckles to adulthood when i can get some really good close-ups.

Is there really a law against killing preying mantis'? (or Mantii - i dunno the pleural).

if so, I know this 'one guy' who killed like a bunch cuz he was scared of them.

hahaha, no, they aren't endangered or even protected anywhere in the US. it's a common misconception stemming from the fact that they are considered to be 'good' bugs and killing them is 'bad.' not that i would recommend doing so, but it's not going land you in prison.
