XVII. the Star
Ranked 17, the Star is the symbol of hope and trust, a dot of piercing light in the inky void. While it maintains balance like Temperance does, it does so with feeling. It is the intuitive pinning point of what is right in the world. It's so nice, in fact, that when its shadow shows, it's merely a light warning that something's wrong. Still, clinging to hope to the point that you do nothing else is never a good idea.
Element: Air.
Upright: optimism, renewal, creative hopes, trust, peace.
Reversed: hope without action, destructive hope, pessimistic outlook, illusions.

A spirit of lunar nature that resides in a secret garden constantly bathed in night. Her combined powers of time and wish lock this space in a state of everlasting unsettling beauty. She is a gracious host and generous to those with nothing, but meets offense with a smile and ambushing traps.
