This gorgeous Spitfire mk.IX (originally built 1943) has been camping out at my work hanger as it waits for weather to clear in Nome Alaska to continue her round the world journey.

I was Coast Guard out of Cordova - buoy tender CGC Sorrel... by the by, I sent your pics to my daughter's father-in-law in England. He's an aircraft Engineer and knew all about the project. He said:
I was aware of the round-the-world flight of the Silver Spitfire – they left here a month or so ago and I@m pleased to see that she’s being looked after properly. I don’t know if you know, but there are a couple of web-locations that you can follow the flight:
https://www.silverspitfire.com/
It has lots of other pictures, and they’re on twitter and facebook – it appears they’re in Russia at the moment according to the website.. whether that’s true I’m not sure.
I almost moved to Alaska. If things had not gone south between me and the politics of the ship, I most likely would have.
