they still use them down here to fly cargo to the Caribbean... not nearly as cold as where you are...

Oh really? I actually did a fishing season there five or so years ago before I got my A&P cert. Interesting coincidence! :)

I was Coast Guard out of Cordova - buoy tender CGC Sorrel... by the by, I sent your pics to my daughter's father-in-law in England. He's an aircraft Engineer and knew all about the project. He said:

It has lots of other pictures, and they’re on twitter and facebook – it appears they’re in Russia at the moment according to the website.. whether that’s true I’m not sure.

I almost moved to Alaska. If things had not gone south between me and the politics of the ship, I most likely would have.
