I actually started just drawing based on some dirty country side picture from Ukrain, poland, russia and so on, you know, wet/snowy roads, somewhere between winter and autum, a lada passing by, some gopniks drinking Tywieck, everything is sorta make-shift build.
The Wyvern (please don't bully her wings) came in later because I just can't fucking help myself. The contrast between background and Character art is a bit rough but I'll get around

Even before I read the description, I saw something very familiar in this background. You were able to convey this atmosphere very well. We see such greyness every year. =)
