Plex the Robot Dinosaur
I've challenged myself to design and finalize characters much more frequently to get practice at it. This is Plex, a shy and timid robot dinosaur creature thing who was born of absent-minded doodling. He's a big baby and I love him. I have some ideas for the city he lives with a bunch of his robot friends, but nothing is concrete yet.
I additionally challenged myself to work with only black and white. It's fitting since machines think in binaries, right? Or I miiiiight suddenly be in old school cartoon mode after seeing the Steven Universe movie, Oops. Definitely also took some very overt inspiration from the WowWee Robotics robots, particularly Roboraptor. Those toys were a big part of my childhood.
Additional notes when drawing:
The height of 4' 5" does not include his horns.
He's shorter when hunched forward and will usually hunch over when sprinting or running
The horns are made of a soft, rubbery material and can bend to fit through doorways when necessary.
Most of Plex's body is made of a hard, plastic like material, but his hands are soft and gentle. Very pleasant to hold I might add!
