I remember when seeing the first RPG book when I was a sophomore, a friend of mine got it mail order.
My character was a Street Samurai that had a few Decker abilities. We combined a few things from GURPS to flesh out our campaign.
There were not many source books at this juncture, and if there had been; we were all a bunch of broke kids trying to scrape up what we could for beer and skateboard parts. Fun times!
