I have trained in this a little, it's called point-shooting, or shooting without using the sights. It's harder than it looks.
(edit: At that range it's not hard to hit the enemy, but it is hard not to shoot yourself in the process. At any reasonable distance it takes a lot of practice to be able to reliably hit a target offhand, without using the sights.)
