So, following the theme of the last submission, here's some more 'Gon Arts'.
Consider this a... 'Counter MeMe' for the great artists of FA.
See... Many people come to me and say "Oh, your art is so awesome..." "Oh, I wish I could draw..." "Oh, my art sucks..." "Oh, I'll never be good..." "Oh, everyone's better than me..." "Oh, <this>..." "Oh, <that>..."
And every single time, I say the exact same thing. "...if you want to be good, you need to practice... you need to draw..."
I've been there... saying those exact same things to artists I admire today still, like
captaingerbear
grisser
strype
blotch
thewielder and many many others...
I could've given up, and kept on whining and being sad and depressed that I had so many cool ideas and couldn't put them on paper (or screen) as awesomely as they did.
It was
thewielder himself who inspired me and, in his own bizarre and hardcore way, gave me the 'push' I needed to keep on practicing and making sure every illustration I made was better than the previous.
I wanted to be as good an artist as he was... and I still do, cuz that bitch's been improving a lot, too :P
And, keeping that 'Always Forward' mood, I give you proof of my progress.
Like so many people out there, I started drawing SailorMoon, trying to somehow copy what I saw on TV, and then give it my own 'twist'.
Thirteen years of skill separate those two drawings, one drawn messily on some paper and rushed through the school scanner... and the other, drawn a couple of hours ago, on a WACOM tablet and a Mac notebook. Same character, same pose...
As people and personalities evolve, so do skills.
If you 'really' wish to be an artist, and make it a part of your life, you need to work for it, and practice.
Sadly, there's no easy way...
It took me thirteen years... ^^; ...and I'm still not good enough...
