It happens from time to time that Vetka the mercenary, receive important jobs Via dead drops to hunt dangerous creatures threatening the life of many, a threat the military does not bother to get rid off since it feeds on the people the deem replaceable.



One of his hardest job was against a giant creature called a slug snatcher, this vile slug monster uses it tendril to snatch its prey , choke them to weaken them enough and then devour them whole. While trying to fight the beast , Vetka was grabbed by the tendrils who tried its best to stop him from stuggling. Luckily his gun was reachable still , it is a heavily modified version of a standard weapon that has a bigger beam of energy for heavier damage.


This combined with the salt bag he tossed at its face, plus the gloves unique ability to become like magnet and stick on everything allowed for Vetka to shoot with one arm the weapon. The recoil was painful for one arm but he did not have much choice as he kept popping the slug eyes until it released its prey . While in agony he would shoot its obvious weak spot , reloading multiple time before the creature finally ceased to live.


There are moment in Vetka's life where he wishes he could just give up and get a easier job, his species gender is not known for their strenght and courage, fighting against these instinct is a combat easier said than done . But a part of him is filled with adrenaline , feeling more alive than any drugs would make you high, it is that sensation he wishes to live over and over even if he put his life on the line countless time.


Plus the pay makes it more than worth it, though he believe that he needs a better weapon for close combat, the dagger he had is clearly a bad choice against enemy not next to him, and larger beast it is rather useless.
