Not often I do fanart of stuff other than STO, but I felt inspired. Echo is a brilliantly written story game by echoproject with a sort of horror movie/Twilight Zone twist.
16 hours and 300+ layers later, this was initially going to be much simpler but I think I got a little carried away. Had a lot of fun detailing!
(Also I've never drawn an otter before so this was wild)

I separate my layers a lot to make it easier if I have to go back and change something. For example about 30 are for Chase's outline, then 3 or 4 for his base colors, then another 7 or 8 for the shadowing, highlights, rim lighting, etc., then a number of mask layers on top of that for effect. The monster and background had even more due to the complexity of the texturing I was aiming for.
