my furry self. drawn by the talented marupa (you can find him on http://www.furaffinity.net/user/marupa/) i think it looks great and i'm colouring it at the moment.
i'll post the headshot next fully coloured.
you may notice that the legs arn't the same in the front and rear view. this is becaus i didn't know if i wanted digitigrade legs or not (still cant decide) but both options look great.

i mean i was in the same boat... wasnt stick men but very close to that....
then i found that site and my drawins became like they are now
i found that the way for me to learn was to follow the steps and draw the same character from the example
after doin a few time it sticks in yu hed and u can alter it to be yur character and put different clothes (if any ) on.
and after a good amount of practice u will find u will no longer need construction lines.
when i got to that point which was recent i found that drawin heds became much easier and quicker... plus they looked better too :)
now to improve my drawins of the body ^^'
