The spots seem like a major difference. I'd think anyone familiar with the Caracal would know they do not have spots? Unless the cubs do for a while, of course.
I think too it might be the tLK reference throwing peeps off. Caracal is the closest thing Africa's got, I guess. Oh well. I won't lose sleep over it if you don't ^-^
