made as a commission, but the buyer didn't approve of my choice of fabric so I'll make them another one in a plainer colour.
My idea was for it to look like it was underwater with refracted light playing over its carapace.
The creature design is copied from a picture of a fossilised specimine that only showed him from the top. I improvised some legs for him so he could get around :)

Opabinia is another critter from the Cambrian, like Anomalocaris. It's one of the weirdest looking animals I've seen, and tardigrades may be their closest living (if distant) relative.
That fabric is beautiful! Shame they didn't like it. Those bristly front appendages are adorable.
I have to say that I adore these immensely. Is there info on buying these (pricing, does it have to be extinct creatures, general size, wait times) anywhere? I'd love to have an earwig one- I've been wanting an earwig stuffed animal for a good (holy crap I can't believe I've been "Earwig" this long)... ten years.

Hi :)
I can make almost anything into a cuddly lil friend.
Earwigs are adorable. I found a nest of baby ones in my back yard last week.
A foot long toy with high detail will be AUS$80. You can even choose the species of earwig you want me to make. I can put a wire structure inside so it can bend it's back over and look all scary.
Squeakers are also available.
