Final round of the Furmula 3 season in Monza.
Title decider between Drew Fawkes (CZE) of TEK Grand Prix
and Antoine Russell (CAN) of Scuderia Faenza.
Coming into the weekend, Drew had a 34-point lead and with taking the pole and additional 4 points, he was seen as a champion. But in race 1, he got crashed into by another driver and DNFed, while Antoine went on to win and score the fastest lap as well. The gap shrunk to just 11 points.
Sunday, Race 2. It was raining, full wet tyres were a must. Drew was making his way through the field after starting from the back. He made it in the points, just enough to secure him the title. But then... his car's gearbox stopped working. Past the Roggia chicane, with 5 laps to go, Drew had to retire again, and with Antoine winning once more, the title went to the Canadian. Drew was sitting on the ground, next to his car, distraught and sad, he couldn't hold it and started crying, his tears blended in with the rain drops. No one cared, everyone was applauding Antoine for becoming the youngest ever F3 champion, on the team's home soil too. This was the worst moment of Drew's career...

Awwww, I feel soo sorry for that poor driver, it reminded me of Lewis Hamilton's potential first F1 world title he could of won in his rookie year of 2007, he ended up being 2nd, although Hamilton did win the world title the year after.
It also reminds me of something the late Ayrton Senna once said, you either win 1st place or you also ran, which is soo true to Ridge Racer Type 4 I was driving today, The DRT Team with Age Solo Sponsor, you have to be perfect on the Final GP with the fastest race car at 209mph otherwise you fail, it took me all day to do 1 race to get it perfect....never again!
