I hate it when they do that. Leaning , and in, and in... Then you scoot away.
BUT
The other side of the coin is when the person at the computer doesn't turn the screen so the customer can see, so they have to shift their head. Especially if they have the privacy glaze.

Yeah, I actually have chairs at my desk for customers and they still just walk around behind me like it isn't an issue.

when I worked at kinkos, we would be safely on the other side of the counter, and we just turned the monitor for proofing. it kept us safe....

Just rotate your screen way over before you give them the idea that they're supposed to look. That way, they won't be able to see clearly and lean at the same time.

I had a professor in college who did the unwelcomed shoulder knead thing to everyone.

Have you ever seen Art School Confidential? Malkovich plays a professor who reminds me VERY much of that professor I had.

My boss has dual monitors, with a hotkey set up to mirror the display, so she can turn one monitor around, and the person sitting on the other side of the desk can see everything.

...It is awesome.
