ive played both. the alliance have done iffy things at times, but they 1. didnt wipe out entire human camps [undead] for no apparent reason aside from being assholes [syklvanas, warcraft 3/cata/the worgen] nor have they invaded a world that isnt even their own [orcs] and murdered the natives there, nor have they done freaky nasty voodoo experiments on people, turning them into zombies and monsters [trolls]--theyre also not evil crack addicts [blood elves/nightfallen] the list goes on for days. and hey, I rolled a DK for like 4 expansions, i like being the 'bad good guy' but horde are the bad bad guys lol.
Everyone collectively knows that the undead are not good people, even the Horde. And as for the trolls, it was groups of trolls not actually involved with the Horde. The trolls with the Horde are an entire separate faction. AND the Orcs came to Azeroth to escape their crumbling world. There's plenty of gray area in both groups, and it's clear that both sides have done good and bad. You forget the humans destroying Turajo? The Tauren at the very least are not a "bad" race.
But I also want to throw in that I wasn't trying to turn anything heated. I was genuinely curious if you'd played both sides. I've played both since I started the game in 2009, and have seen questionable things happen on both factions. That's part of what makes the story so engaging. I played Horde in Pandaria and Horde currently, and I would never say that Garrosh or Sylvanas are good people, but they are interesting and engaging characters, and especially Sylvanas' history, have some interesting sides to them, good and bad.

honestly, sylvanas is a cliche, boring character. so I never particularly found her "interesting" shes a butthurt elf still mad that daddy arthas wrecked her ass and made her his bitch toy. like jfc, get over it slut. pls. and garrosh was yet another, super stereotypical hurp derp power hungry yadda yadda bad guy my race best race etc etc etc. There's nothing 'deep' or meaningful about anything since wrath. lol.
