Dashing out and dashing in!
Tail a-quiver, eyes shine bright,
Dances under full moonlight.
Rap at the window, cry at the lock,
Earning his supper from noon til six o'clock!
Quicksilver for his shoes, ever brash and bold,
The mouse that no known room nor lock can hold.
Wand'ring like the zephyr breeze, sneaky like a cat,
Wont to take the silver lining from right beneath your hat!
Ever flitting town to town, only one place can't he wander,
Never will the mousey ever leave a lady's chamber.
