This plaque is more obvious that the previous one I posted, as it sits on a stone plinth at a lookout point, one which overlooks the beginnings of the Rhondda valley. South Wales has a long tradition of religious non-conformism, and yet conform to the idea of religion so the people did. At the turn of the 20th century, it was not uncommon to find 5 churches to a village, including Anglican, Catholic, Baptist, Quaker, and many other denominations of the Christian faith. Many of these churches have now gone, but reminders of the past remain.
The inscription in Welsh reads:
"Mor lliosg yw dy weithredoedd o Arglwydd! Gwnaethost hwynt oll mewn doethineb: llawn yw y ddaear o'th gyfoeth. Psalmau 104,24"
In English:
"O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches. Pslam 104, 24"
Hope you enjoy!
