With a mother as talented as hers, Bonny Bright once expected power and prestige to simply fall upon her, though, she quickly learned that this would not be the case.

Instead, she was forced to work incredibly hard, wrapped up in training for hours on end as she searched for a palce amongst the castle guards.

In spite of undeniably impressive abilities of both light and air, Riptide refused to allow her daughter to become a full member, holding the position ahead of her daughter to keep her moving forward. Her mother believed that this was the best way to ensure that she reached her full potential while Bonny Bright believes it to be deeply unfair, inspiring a bitterness in her.

Such bitterness inspires her nasty behaviour when it comes to her treatment of other young ponies who she sees as weaker than her. One such pony is her half sibling Folksy, a child of her father's second honourary partner. Filled with disgust, she believes that Folksy is feeble and is swift to make this known, treating her extremely coldly.

For those who she sees as being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with, however, she is capable of forming firm friendships which are enshrined with deep loyalty. In spite of her gruff demenaour and occasional snapping, she deeply cares about both Shooting Star and Mistee and will hotly defend their honour.
