It's amazing to think about what we are able to do by using only our body as a weight. Sometimes, indeed, moving to complex exercises is perhaps the only way to obtain real benefits in terms of strength and endurance.
Prince Borgon knows this quite well~
After all, some physiques are meant only for the purpose to look at them, others also have a specific function.
The Planche is perhaps one of the exercises that best represents the idea of "effort with aesthetic and functional purpose".
It is a very difficult position to hold, which almost seems to challenge gravity itself: paws almost grasping the floor, muscles of shoulders, chest and even back pushing down and back as much as they can, abdomen hardening as a rock, buttocks squeezed to keep those legs straight as a pair of columns.
Balance combines with strength, fatigue and effort guarantee an ever-increasing resistance over time, while from the perspective of the beholder, a wingless dragon seems about to take flight!Another pic showing one of my favourite calisthenics exercises.
I love performing Planches! Very few more difficult exercises are as challeging as holding yourself like that.
Specifically, the Planche is an excellent exercise for building strong chest and shoulders, not to mention rock-like abs.
It requires a lot of strength, balance and attempts, but for sure it repays you for every second and every drop of sweat you lost while training it.
Usually it's performed on the ground, but holding it on a couple of parallettes can make it slightly simpler.
Honestly, I'm able to hold a Full Planche (so with both legs close like that) only for about 10 sec per set at the moment. But Borgon is certainly much stronger than me, so for him even keeping it for a while is just a piece of cake, as you can see ^^
This wonderful sketch comes from the hands of
Deanosaior. She was gorgeous, since she usually draws ferals, so it was already challenging for her to work on a humanoid body. On top of that, the position is not so common, as you can imagine. So, my congratulations to this fine lady, and I also thank her kindly for being so patient and friendly with me. This pic wasn't simple, even with proper indications, but she managed to do it perfectly.
Once again, gramercy m'lady ^^
