Just as the shard-rift blinked out of existence, the Plaguebringer Goliath resumed its destructive charge through the narrow tunnel, carving it out as it flew. All four fighters jumped aside, and Jamie produced an energy rifle seemingly from thin air. He waited for the energy cell to hit full power, then pulled the trigger and unleashed a screaming beam of white hot energy which tore through the Goliath's body leaving a two foot wide tunnel. Nearby, Josh was throwing out his Valediction scythe at the numerous Plague Mines that were floating around the battlefield.
Ryan was floating six feet in the air, and his eyes glowed white with raw power. He dropped to the floor and two searing white warblades materialised on his arms. He teleported over to the Goliath and began to slash violently at the black steel shell covering its body. One of the corroded metal plates fell off and Josh flung a Valediction scythe at the exposed, sickly green pulsating flesh, and the scytheblade embedded itself deeply into the flesh, causing the Goliath to fly much more erratically and charge with deadly force. The Goliath loosed a volley of plague missiles at Josh, who flicked out his Exoblade and sliced every rocket in half. He then leapt up, level with the Goliath's insectile head and decapitated the abberation with a single stroke, causing the Plaguebringer Goliath to drop to the jungle floor, lifeless. Almost instantly its carcass disintegrated, leaving behind a Hive launcher, modified to launch several kinds of plague based warheads, a Virulence broadsword, infused with plagued matter, a plague bolt staff and a throwing knife made of malachite, appropriately called the Malachite. Josh picked up the blades, Ryan took the staff and Jamie stowed the Hive launcher. Ryan's sixth sense alerted him to the freeing of an aeons old threat within the tundra and ice.
"We should get back to base. Now." The urgency in Ryan's deep, sepulchral voice was unsettling, and more importantly, impossible to ignore. Ryan placed a hand on Jamie and Josh, and the trio vanished in a flash of cyan light. Emily simply teleported back like the others had, but since she was not as adept at magic as Ryan the spell took time to cast.
